Our group: a multi-disciplinary team which contributes to push boundaries and deliver high impact research output
Activity: our work explores a number of thematic ideas that challenges the energy research area

The Thermal Energy Systems Lab has established materials and instrumentation facilities for materials engineering, formulation of novel phase change materials and characterisation.

Materials Lab: These equipment are dedicated to PCM formulation, chemical functionalization and stable dispersion of nano-fillers.

Bulk materials thermal characterization: The equipment consists of a modified re-circulator chiller and specially designed containers to capture the phase change behaviours of materials through a NI data acquisition system.

Low temperature thermo-physical characterization: These equipment are equipped with liquid nitrogen cooling systems to enable cryogenic temperatures measurements of latent heat of fusions, heat capacities and thermal conductivities of materials.
