Ms. Xu Haoxin - PhD Student

Short bio

Ms. Haoxin Xu obtained her B.Eng with honors from Zhejiang University in China in 2011. Then she pursued her MS.c of Sustainable Energy Engineering in Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden from 2011 to 2013. After graduation, she worked as a research engineer in Shanghai Electric Co., Ltd, specializing in Distributed Energy System design and simulation, before she joined the group as a Ph.D student since August 2015. Her field of interests covers latent heat thermal energy storage for waste heat recovery applications, phase change material composition, computational fluid dynamics simulation and so on.

Projects

Application of Phase Change Materials for Improved Energy Efficiency in Waste-to-Energy Plants funded by NEA under the Waste-to-Energy Competitive Research Programme (ETRP 1501 104).

Ms. Haoxin Xu’s current project is in collaboration with the PROMES laboratory of the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) at the University of Perpignan, under the supervision of Profs Alessandro ROMAGNOLI and Xavier PY. The research project focuses on formulation and characterization of phase change materials for waste heat recovery, heat and fluid flow analysis of thermal energy storage charge/discharge cycle, assessment of current WHR systems, and simulation and experimental analysis for system level implementation.
